Is Ebay or Vinted better?

And why? I've always used Ebay but have seen people say they prefer Vinted. I had a look and it seems that you have a fixed price sale on Vinted rather than auction - or is that a starting price? Any thoughts welcome!

I’m guessing you mean for selling? I haven’t sold on either but I prefer vinted for buying

I’ve been buying and selling on Vinted, having done both on eBay in the past. I find Vinted a lot more transparent with pricing.
It isn’t an auction format, but there is the option for a buyer to put in a lower offer, which the seller can refuse. There are no hidden fees for buyer or seller, which I like.
I think if you have an item which you reckon there could be high demand for, the auction at eBay might be better, but for standard “clearing out the wardrobe”, I definitely prefer Vinted

I joined Vinted last weekend and have made almost £50 in a week. None of my clothes are high-end - they are just high street stuff. Ebay might be better if you have designer stuff to sell. I've found it really easy to sell and send the parcels - the buyer buys a shipping label and you just download it, print it out and drop the parcel off at the parcel point.

I've sold clothes on both and find Vinted so much easier. It's quick and easy to upload. Fixed price and things stay on there until they sell or you take them off.

So you don't have to wait for auctions to end or relist every 7 days or whatever. The fee structure is very simple compared to eBay. The price you put on an item is the price you will receive. Buyer pays postage and unless the buyer chooses royal mail, Vinted generate the postage label automatically for you, you just print it, stick it on and drop it off.

I have used both. Vinted is much more user friendly, much fairer re fees and great for selling cheap and cheerful stuff or items with small defects. I've not been able to get the price I'd get on ebay for nicer things though (and by nicer I'm talking about mid range brands like warehouse) so am sticking with ebay for that level for now.

I tend to stick my stuff on both, and see what sells first! Also on local Facebook selling sites. On my very unscientific study, I found it was pretty even between the three.

Vinted without a doubt. I've bought and sold. So easy compared to EBay. Prices are more realistic, some real bargains I've found.

Also as a seller you get 💯 of your money, no fees are added or listing fees or anything like that. Listing is easy, not loads of questions regarding sleeve length, collar type that kind of thing. I find it really easy to navigate too, simple to use and no queuing at the post office as most buyers use Evri.

I much prefer Vinted. Had great experiences as buyer and seller on there.

Eileen101 · 01/07/2022 19:05

Vinted definitely. As a seller - no selling fees, more views/'footfall', tracked couriers.
As a buyer - more secure as you have to confirm everything is okay, no inflated postage, tracked couriers.

The only downside of vinted that I've found is that it takes longer to release the money which is a bit annoying as a buyer if they take ages to collect the parcel from their collection point!

Thanks all. Really helpful info!

Vinted is a lot more user-friendly and much easier to sell cheap and cheerful stuff on.

I mostly use Vinted now, but I still use eBay for buying and selling perfume (Vinted is really strict about used perfume) or for auctioning some higher value clothing.

Hi I want to start selling on vinted but if you get a postage label sent from vinted, and I put it on my parcel how do they know how big or how heavy it is for the correct postage label ?
thanks
