Cost to living payment

I live with my parents and my 2 sons. My dad works and has a good income, my mum is retired.
I work but o have a UC top up. Am I eligible for the cost of living payment?
I don't think I am as my dads incoming probably takes the household over a threshold but at the same time my own income to support my boys is low and o have to claim UC to top up my wage.

Does anyone have any idea on this at all?

Your dads income has nothing to do with your Uc claim. If you claim UC you will get the £650 payment.

Your parents will get the £400 credit to their electricity account also but obviously you won't get that if you are not the bill payer.

Ahh thank you for the information.
I was getting confused because I kept seeing "household" income which would be mine and my dads put together whereas we manage our money very separately so I felt like I may be missing out 😳
How does this work? When does the payment get paid etc and will it effect Norma UC?

July and autumn and no it won’t affect normal payments.

Patatina · 08/06/2022 19:15

If you have a single claim your dads income won't affect it and it doesn't affect normal UC it's an extra payment I believe

So does the voucher ment get notified via UC who qualifies for the payment or is it calculated on your reported earnings?
This really will be such a help for me if it get it :)

Everyone on Uc will get the £650. It is nothing to do with earnings and won't reduce your UC in any way. Half will be paid in July and half in september I think. I'm not sure how they will pay it but presumably as an extra payment on your July UC payment. It is not being paid in voucher form.

Oh shit I've just remembered my employer made an error with my salary in may which is going to effect my July payment. They've over paid me so Ive paid it back and have to appeal via UC when my statement is ready in June 29.
Is this going to mean I don't get my payment because it looks like I've weren't a lot on may and they will think this is what o earn 😳😳😳

It’s irrelevant how much you earn, you have already been told that everyone on UC gets the £650.

Wednesdayafternoon · 09/06/2022 12:03

@LilacPoppy yeah but my point was that for July until the appeal goes through I will get £0 due to the error in my report on earnings.

@Wednesdayafternoon Yes but the payments are based on your eligibility in May.

Wednesdayafternoon · 09/06/2022 13:55

@LilacPoppy ahhh fab thank you for clarifying that for me 🥰
