[[http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2230/446212 see my thread here].

The bank have admitted that the woman (April) that I spoke to didn't stop the cheque as I ahd instructed. They refunded me the £7.50. They also said in the letter that it was policy that any cheque written for up to £100 that is presented for payment will be honoured, regardless of wether it has been stopped or not. This rule seems to ahve come from nowhere. We stopped a cheque for exactly £100 a few weeks ago, and it was declined when teh holder tried to cash it. So why ahve they decided this now. PLUS I didn't put my card number on theback of the cheque so therefore didn't "guarentee" it.
I want tow rite them a letter asking for my £50 back but am not sure of the wording, I tend to go off on a tangent
