How much should my baby's father be paying to live here?

My 3mo babies father lives with me he has done for almost 2 years. At first he paid nothing as he was out of work due to Covid, eventually he started paying little bits here and there and now he pays £100 per week. He has a well paid job, self employed and usually earns at least £500 per week. He spends fortunes going out drinking and doing stuff with his mates and blows it all, never has any saving, but when I mention maybe he could contribute a little more he doesn't like it. The 400pm pays for all his food, toiletries etc and his share of the bills, he uses my car, and also we have this child together. Do you think he should be paying more? Child maintence calculation would have him paying £100 per week for our child alone if we weren't together plus he'd be paying to live somewhere else. I asked for an extra £50 per week as I thought that was reasonably fair but he basically said he was buying my new car for me then and he'd own most of it as my new car payments are £250 per month, which I can afford regardless of him paying any extra but that's just how he sees it. Any advice would be great. TIA

He's a financial abuser, get rid of him, claim child maintenance. And do some work on yourself and your boundaries, so you get good at spotting the bad ones.

You do not want your child growing up around a man like this, his abuse of you will get worse and worse and will extend to your baby. It already is indirectly by his refusal to support them. You will be financially better off once he is gone and free to live your life on your own terms, and one day meet someone worthy of you.
