Can someone help me figure this out please?

I currently work roughly 80 hours p/w. I'd like to cut this down to around 40 hours p/w or less to allow me to study part time.

I am entitled to WTC but don't get any due getting stuck a vicious circle re: working extra hours and ending up owing HMRC even though the hours were reported to them so taking on more hours to make up the shortfall and then owing them more and on and on until I found myself working an unfeasible amount of hours.

I'd really like to finish my degree. I put it on hold when I started working more as it was making me ill.

Is there anything I would be entitled to to help me work less?

I rent and have one child under 16 and one over 16 and not in education due to undiagnosed health issues. I don't currently get any benefits.
