NHS increment pay rise - when will I get it?

lustforlife · 09/02/2022 14:33

I have worked for the NHS in my role for 2 years this month. I believe my pay should be going up an increment within my band. Does anyone know if it's from April I will receive this? And if so, would it be backdated? Or will it be from the date I was employed for 2 years? Thanks

Should be from your date of starting the post

@Emog21 thank you, I hope so

Have you had a positive review in the past six months?

molifly12 · 09/02/2022 20:14

Some increments are none financial. Meaning you go up a step but it's the same financial amount for the first three steps.

In.my trust you need 100% compliance on your mandatory training to get your increment
....check their are no conditions s with your trust

Have a look at agenda for change pay scales for 2021/22. Your increment will show on there. You should then have a pay progression meeting with your line manager well before the increment date. You will need to evidence you are up to date with mandatory training and achieved your appraisal objectives.
You can also check on ESR, if you have been unable to achieve what's required for operational reasons, for example training cancelled due to COVID then you are still entitled to your increment.

This is correct. If your anniversary of your starting date is this month then you should have had a pay progression meeting already so that it can be recorded as successful on ESR and your pay point adjusted.

It goes up on the date you started 2 years ago. It tells you your increment date on your payslip.

Thank you everyone, really helpful answers. My mandatory training etc is all up to date. I brought this up with my manager in my last supervision and she didn't really have a clue about it 🤷‍♀️ I thought it was something that happened automatically to be honest, so I will raise this with her asap.

My increment was automatic, it wasn't discussed with my ward manager.
All training etc up to date.

I imagine someone will have needed to log somewhere that you're up to date with training and have achieved your objectives to allow payroll to add the increment, even if they didn't discuss it with you.

Have a look on your trust internet pages for pay step progression and what needs to be done, in our trust a form has to be completed following a meeting with your manager and I have recently discovered a change form ( to cover the pay increase) also needs to be completed ( that wasn't in the guidance!).

PrizePrick · 10/02/2022 18:50

My increment date is shown on my payslip...but I know that every trust is different with pretty much everything (why they can't standardise everything across the board, uniforms, pay dates etc etc is beyond me)
