me and dp are in the process of buying a house and need to find £1000 pound very soon for the fees, does anyone know the best and cheapest loan company or credit card company that have cheap interest. its all happened very quickly as we didnt think we would find a house stright away like we have done.

Sorry - you are buying a house and don't have £1000? TBH I would find that very scarey!

Are you getting a 100% Mortgage? Can you ask the bank for the fees too?

WingsofanAngel · 30/12/2007 18:28

Try the Martin Lewis web site he has all the latest info on loans etc.

Sorry rdk, I didn't mean to offend. My comment about the mortgage was supposed to be helpful. i.e have you asked the bank. knowing the time of year and the speed you say things have moved they may be willing to help.

Also some loans Companies may not be willing to loan you money if you have a 100% mortgage, it was a genuine question so I could possibly give you the names of some Loan companies who are willing to give unsecured loans.

But then if you think I am being unhelpful fine, don't ask for help on a public forum.

callme..... my dp works and pays everything like i said b4 weve got down to the last we had saved and we went to the bank and they said they couldnt help him but to be honest i think they just wanted to shut up shop and all go home she went out of the room for a few minutes and came back in and said sorry theres nothing we can do[it was a piss take really]. {yet we got morgage no probs] i dont think i will be able to get a loan in my name cause im not employed now.

OP posts:
rdk · 30/12/2007 19:28

Could you add the fees onto the end of the mortgage or onto the amount.

I added mine on to the end of mine and i think it put it up about £2 per month. I know longer overall but needs must.

I second the martin thing.

callmeovercautious · 30/12/2007 20:51

OK, definately Martin, also I have checked todays Times for you:

Best Low cost Loans:

Based on £5000 over 3 years so you would need to see.

www.yourpersonalloan.co.uk 6.7%

www.barclaycard.co.uk 6.8%

www.moneybackbank.co.uk 7.1%

Cheapest Credit Cards, Introductory deals:

The rates might be if transferring a balance but....

Halifax - 0% - 15m
HSBC - 0% 12m
First Direct - 0% 12m

Standard rates, Barclaycard is best.

All assuming you have a good credit history (which as you have been approved a 100% mortgage atm should be right?)

As your Mortgage has not yet been taken I suppose you could try not declaring it and see if it shows on the credit check etc.

Also worth having a look at www.moneysupermarket.com

See I am helpful - just cautious

rdk · 30/12/2007 22:14

theses fees cant be added on top of morgage because then they class it as 100+ morgage if that makes sense, but i wish we could do that.
