Fixed deal tariff ending.

After some advice on the scary energy price situation. Currently on a fixed deal which ends March. Paying £150 a month with Eon and been offered a flexible rate at £180 a month or a fixed for a year at £240. I'm assuming that once April comes the flexible rate will shoot up as the price cap rises, so is the fixed deal a better one?

I think Martyn Lewis is still recommending going on to the flexible tariff. Keep and eye on his website and get the newsletters.

I'm on a fixed deal until end of February and not doing anything until then as I have cheap fuel until then at the coldest time of the year, keeping an eye on what Martin Lewis says and the new price cap should be announced in February what it is going to be. I'm guessing the flexible rate offered to you is the price cap.

if you pay your council tax over 10 monthly payments, then you'll have payments for February and march that are not accounted for - maybe look at putting that money away for the gas and electric utilities. Its not the answer to your question but may help next winter with costs
