Child benefit, earning over £50K & self assessment

Can anyone explain how this works and what you need to do if you earn over £50K please?

Yes. So if you owe £1000 they adjust your tax code to claim the money evenly over the year.

I got caught out in the first year for about £1800 and have made sure it's in December every year since. This year was pushing it at 31st but I made it!

I have only had this salary and CB since this financial year is I will need the P60 I get this coming May and then have until January 2022 to do the return I think?!

And I could rejig my pension before then ie pay in more...
