hi ive recently been put in Limited Capability for Work and Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) group in universal credit i have first appointment with my jobcentre advisor tomorow after this decision has been made and hes to decide what he wants me to do to get me fit for work. I was put into this group due to anxiety and wondered if anybody else had been put into this group with same or similar condition if so id like to know what to expect

You shouldn't be made to go for any work search appointments if you've been put in the LCWRA group. Are you sure it's not LCW ??

You should not have any appointments . I would query this .

according to letter i got it says right now i dont need to look for work but would need to meet with my advisor at jobcentre and would be expected to do things like work on my cv or do training to enhance my job prospects in future when my health is better....

...but i feel my advisor is devious as i had an appointment with him today which is first appointment ive had since been put on esa he asked if i was with any recruitment agencies i told him i was with one called the employability program which is run by local council which he should have been aware of as hes supposed to read my uc notes before appointment...

It used to be that you could attend and get advice if you really wanted in the limited group and then had to do whatever they ask to “get ready for work at some future point”. Worth googling to see the exact wording. They may not make it look like it is optional but they can’t make you.

masterofdoomv1 · 01/12/2021 20:44

...he then tells me theres an organisation i forget theyre name who he could refer me to to help with my anxiety i asked if this was another recruitment agency to which he said yes i said no thanks as i feel theyre sole aim is to get me into work rather than be solely concerned about my health he accepted what i told him didnt push it but im wary of whats to come as i think hes underhanded in how he suggests things

akire ill look into it as i dont feel im being taken seriously by jobcentre about my mental health they just seem to want me off theyre records and into work as soon as and my anxiiety seems to be irrelevant

It sounds like you're not in the LCWRA, but in the LCW group. Are you receiving extra money? If not you'll be in the LCW group which means you do need to work on things to help you get into work in the future

Babyroobs · 01/12/2021 22:37

It definitely sounds more like LCW.

masterofdoomv1 · 01/12/2021 23:02

it must be lcw group then but i dont get more money i get same rate as i was on on universal credit and i was advised before that its against rules for an advisor to refer a claiment to 2 agencies i have no issue of doing courses voluntary work etc but i have seen a counciller that the jobcentre provided me with before it was only for one session i explained i had family issues said what was going on and it was implied that i was lying and made clear the counciller didnt believe what i told her with the responses i got id have no issue with being refered to a counciller if they were independant and impartial not an agency that worked along side the jobcentre and who had targets to meet

i realised that and had posted thats the group i must be in and stated my reasons for not wanting councilling provided by an agency as all theyre interested in is targets rather than my health and whats in my best interests if the jobcentre find me a qualified independant person who is able to help me with my anxiety and thats all theyre interested in rather than helping jobcentre meet targets then bring it on id be more than willing to accept that help

Hi all I’m looking for some information or advice for my niece, she has been on LCWRA for a while now but she is now going to be going for a re assessment because she’s been on it for some time. When she as awarded this she lived with her partner and parents and she had a baby, now she’s living on her own with her daughter she’s concerned people will get involved for her daughter (now 2 years old) is this true? As a few people have said this and it’s made her very anxious for the new assessment. She was awarded LCWRA for her anxiety and depression. Thank you x
