Lost love to shop card

Sugarlump123 · 20/11/2021 15:43

Hi guys,

I got a love to shop voucher from park, It has not been delivered and was sent to wrong address. Can't contact them over weekend and panicking now, as address they saying it was sent to are denying having it. If money been spent on card can it be traced where it was spent at or who has spent it.

How do you know where they've sent it to?

GnomeyGnome · 20/11/2021 15:53

How was it sent to the wrong address? Their mistake or yours? I should imagine love to shop would be able to see where and when the voucher is spent. I don't know the law on this but I'd imagine it would be theft of some sort if the people who it ended up with use it.

LawnFever · 20/11/2021 15:57

Did you get it sent to the wrong address or was it their mistake?

They can probably see where it’s been spent, but if you gave them the address in error I’m not sure they’ll be able to do much if it’s already been spent.

They might be able to put a stop on the card possibly?

Sugarlump123 · 20/11/2021 16:06

My fault I was rushing put wrong number in, it says on website once leave depot can't be tracked, but surely this can't be right can it. This happened to anyone else

I imagine they can put a stop on the card . It’s possible it hasn’t arrived but I had love 2 shop card from park and mine arrived by by Royal Mail and I could track it so not sure why you can’t .

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 20/11/2021 16:22

The vouchers and cards are sent by signed for delivery so they will be able to trace the address it was delivered to. If they have been signed for at the address then call the police.

You can cancel the card if you have the number but I think its about a tenner to cancel and get another sent. There's a 24/7 automated line for cancelling.

I think you have to call and register the L2S cards, or do it online I think so tracing it should be easy enough for them as they haven't been registered then stolen.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 20/11/2021 17:00

Not sure there is much to be done if they sent it to the address you gave them.

They may be able to cancel it if not spent and credit the balance to another card but that would be done at their discretion if its even possible.

They could probably check where it was spent but no way of knowing who it was.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 20/11/2021 17:29

Well they aren't at liberty to replace a card that you had sent to the wrong address. I don't even know how that's possible. How do people get their own door number wrong? Presumably it's a neighbour then? I thought it was all auto fill these days.

LawnFever · 20/11/2021 17:32

If they have been signed for at the address then call the police.

The police aren’t going to be interested in this, what a waste of police time that would be when the OP gave the address it’s been sent to, the person it’s been delivered to has done nothing wrong.

Holdontowhat · 20/11/2021 17:45

If the person it has been delivered to has received it knowing it is not addressed to them and therefore not their property, and is refusing to hand it over or spends it, of course they have done something wrong. It's theft!

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 20/11/2021 18:04

The police aren’t going to be interested in this

They will absolutely be interested, it's theft Confused

SunndyD · 20/11/2021 18:06

It’s theft, if they’ve spent it… fraud as it’s in your name and doesn’t belong to them. Much like a bank card being delivered to wrong address and someone else using it.
The transactions can be traced, CCTV can be secured by the police etc.

Of course if they hand it over nothing wrong but if they spend it then fraud as it’s not theirs 👎 police will deffo be interested

Yeah you can report it but as the victim of card fraud / theft a couple of times they will do jack shit.

I just has a quick Google and there have been quite a few instances of this exact situation going to court.

Not right now it’s not, it’s been sent to their address, by it simply being delivered there they’ve done nothing wrong, they haven’t asked for it to be sent to them fraudulently.

The OP hasn’t even said if she’s knocked on the door & asked for it yet, it could be as simple as doing that and getting the card back.

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 20/11/2021 21:30

I already said IF it had been signed for and the op stated they were denying having it. Theres really no need to be tagging me in the very short thread to tell me I'm wrong, when actually it's you who hasn't RTFT.

LawnFever · 20/11/2021 22:04

Chill your boots it’s not just me saying the police will do nothing, if you RTFT… and quoting a reply is just quicker Hmm

You didn't say the police wouldn't be interested, you did say they have done nothing wrong by simply having it delivered, I clearly said to check with the postal tracking first, and you also said that op hadn't stated if she had knocked on the door when she made it clear they denied having it... but yes, you're right it's me that hasn't RTFT Hmm
