If you are awarded LCWRA ( Limited capability for work and work related activity ) then you will receive an extra element on your UC. It is around £343 extra per month. It is only payable from the fourth UC monthly assessment period after you started handing in sick notes.

In addition to Babyroobs - They could decide that you can’t work but can do some activities to get better LCW. (Limited Capability for Work).
You wouldn’t get any extra money for that directly. It does mean if you have a partner who works you can get a work allowance where they ignore part of any wages before a taper is applied. (You might already have it in place if you have children). Currently £293 if you get a housing element or £515 if you don’t. Those are due to go up by about £40 per month in the next few weeks.

The work allowances are going up - the amount that is disregarded from earnings before earnings reduce your total award. Not everyone gets a work allowance but you will if you have children or limited capability for work - LCW/ LCWRA on your claim.

from payments from 1st December I think, so from UC assessment periods ending around 25th Nov.
Shazzz1xx · 18/11/2021 21:12

My period is 14th - 15th x

So your Uc payment on 22nd december should be higher assuming you have a person on your claim working or receiving SSP or some earnings. If you have rent element on your claim the work allowance is going up to £335 and if no rent element then it is £557. Taper rates are also reducing making working people better off also.

There has been plenty in the news since the budget announcement but I guess as people's payments will be going up rather than down so no-one working will be worse off I guess maybe they didn't feel the need to inform everyone.
