I looking to get recommendations for an app that can help me with savings goals. I saw an advert for one today called Pennyworth that looked interesting but there are others and wanted to see what other peoples experiences are. TIA.

I use moneybox and chip for mine. Moneybox does round ups on my accounts and takes them out and invests them in a S&S isa. Chip uses an algorithm (I think that’s right!) and takes random amounts out of my account that I don’t notice and saves it in a high interest rate account.

Both are really great apps, but if I had to pick one I’d probably go with Chip because they do the S&S isa too and I find it easier to use. I also love the pain free savings that I don’t have to think about!

I use chip too. It’s pretty good, and as @MuchTooTired says, I hardly notice the odd £10 or £20 it takes from my bank account and adds to my chip savings. I use payday put away for a set amount each month, plus the AI ad-hoc saving. I’ve set it so that it doesn’t take any money if my bank account has less than a £500 balance.

MSE has info on various auto save apps here

I also use the Moneyhub app to keep an eye on all of my accounts, cards, savings, etc. You can get it free for a limited time then it’s £14.99 per year
