Link Financial and credit report

I used to have a Barclaycard credit card which I defaulted on paying several months in a row. Totally my own fault, I accept, I wasn't coping with life at the time. Anyway, due to the prolonged defaulting the Barclaycard was closed and the balance was transferred to Link Financial, a debt company, and I have been paying them an amount monthly ever since - five years have passed now and the debt is almost cleared.
I've just seen on my credit report that my payments to Link are shown as defaults, every month, from when they took on the debt until still now, even though I've paid on time every month without fail (direct debit).
Is this right? Does it show as default because I defaulted on the credit card originally? I'd hoped the regular timely payments would show positively on my credit report but now I'm worried I will look bad for 5 (or6?) years after I finish paying.

I had a defaulted debt op, and each monthly payment on your credit file does show up as default. The debt though will fall off the credit report, even if you haven’t cleared it, from 6 years after the first default payment.

Check out debtcamel.co.uk
She has a page on this here: debtcamel.co.uk/debt-default-date/

She is really helpful and responsive if you post a comment on one of the pages. Usually responds in a few hours! She has been really helpful to me.
