I brought Dd2 this and basically it is the biggest pile of rubbish. We have tried it in every which way possible but it just doesn't do what it says it should.

If I have the reciept will I be able to take it back ? Even for a credit note ? It was from The Entertainer by the way.

Take it back - if you have the receipt you should be fine.

yes
its the law

BibiJesus · 12/12/2007 16:29

Take it back and explain it's not fit for purpose - if it doesn't do what it claims to then it's not.

dingdongmerrilyonFLIER · 12/12/2007 16:30

agree its shit, ds got the mini one for his brithday and, while it reads like a good product, the reality is it is absolute rubbish !

Why don't you try emailing them and telling them how disappointed in it you are and asking if you can return it? they may come back and say you can replace it with something else, but thats better than nothing.

nutcracker · 12/12/2007 16:32

Gonna go look for the reciept, I am crap at keeping them so fingers crossed everyone.

Found it

I cannot believe just how crap it is, there is no way it is anywhere even near to how good they make it look on the ad.

glad you found it - sorry i thought it was an online shop.

make sure when you take it back that you say it was not as described, so not fit for purpose.

nutcracker · 12/12/2007 16:49

On the reciept it says 'we will refund or exchange most items as long as they are returned within 21 days of purchasing and are unopened, in their original packaging and with a valid reciept'.

I have opened it though and took all of the bits out of their packaging etc ??

Am I entitled to a complete refund ir will I have to exchange it for something else ??

If it's not fit for purpose you are entitled to a complete refund. they can't state it does anything that it doesn't. go be firm with them!

nutcracker · 12/12/2007 17:02

Ok, I will try and be firm, which might be hard given that I have lost my voice lol.

Right, I took it back and gave it to 12 yr old sales assistant and explained that I wanted a refund as it was not as described on the advert, it was rubbish.

He then took the whole thing out of the box and set it all up, eventually getting it to work, and drawing a tiny bit of a picture.
I explained that if it took him that long, imagine how long it takes for an 8yr old to do it.

He then started saying that he didn't think they could refund because it did work and it wasn't faulty etc. I asked for the manager.

Manager comes out and I explain it all again, she then says 'if i can get it all back in the box ok then i will make a desicion as to wether you can have a refund, as there isn't actually a fault with it'.

I said 'well it was all packed nicely in the box until you took it all out again'.

Anyhow, she eventually got it in the box and gave me my refund, making it sound like she was doing me the biggest favour of the century.

Glad you managed to sort it. Impressed you got your money back too, I'd have thought it would have been an exchange job.

The reviews for it on Amazon are not good either.
