How much do you spend on food per month?

Morning everyone.

I have recently split from my child's father and I'm sorting out my budgets etc...I was thinking £300 a month for food including baby milk. Is this reasonable? Is it too much? How much do you spend on food a month?

Thanks

3 adults, 2 cats and a dog.

Between £550-600 a month.

I shop between tesco and asda but really want to shop more at Aldi. Only difficulty is finding the time to actually go and do it as at the moment everything I do is online.

I spend £55 per week on food, around £5 per week on essentials like shampoo, bin bags, etc. We are 1 adult, 2 kid household (older tweens/ teens), one large dog, two other small pets. One child has school lunches, the other pack up. £300 for one person and a baby is a very generous budget. We don't eat loads of expensive meat which I think helps, and we also have pizza once s week which we make from scratch and costs very little. Couple of pasta meals, couple of meat meals, one salad/snack type meal. I make whatever we have left over for lunches.

When I was a single mum I spent £30/week including wine, nappies, cat food, and toiletries.
I cooked from scratch and then froze for the week. We don't eat meat or dairy so this probably keeps the budget low.

I don't buy many things that are processed, and our diet is heavy in beans and pulses, rice, and pasta, with sauces from cheap veggies and cheap tins of tomatoes.

I think it's so expensive now. I don't eat meat or fish or drink alcohol and I've come to the conclusion I can't do it for less than £500 a month - I get the veg box on top as a luxury as supermarket veg is really bad these days . It's my biggest outlay of the month by far.
