Hello everyone. Just a quick question.. has anyone ever been taken on PIP and done a mandatory consideration and been successful? I have done one as I was wrongfully taken off and lied about. I have asked them tk listen back to the calls as the things they stated I said was not true and the calls can prove this. My carer sent a 6 page letter in explaining why I shouldn't of been taken on for severe mental health and other difficulties.

I've waited nearly 12 weeks next week and they gave me abit of a time line which is end of October to hear something back. My letters have been with with case manager for atleast a month now, I just think with it being so long do I have a chance on getting accepted again this time? I was on it for 7 years things got worse I didn't lie to them I told them this on the form they send you and they seem to think I'm totally fine.

Has anyone been successful with it taking this long? Thankyou and please no hate. I have mental health I cannot cope with people's hate for no reason thankyou everyone

I see lots of PIP letters as part of my job. Yes lots of people get a higher award as a result of a mandatory reconsideration. Usually a good idea to go to a disability charity to help you with it eg Mind, but sounds like you did it well, if you got your paid carer to write to them.

This happens often, there is no need on their part to speed up the process and put you out of your misery and say oh dear we made an error. They could say we are correct still and then you will need to take to next level which nearly everyone wins!

Don't give up. If your mandatory reconsideration is rejected then please appeal. All money owed will be backdated and it sounds like you have a strong case, this is something you deserve and are entitled to, in spite of how the system makes you feel. Look on this website for help and advice

Good luck!

They cancelled a friend of mine. She appealed, got the decision reversed, plus they awarded her a higher amount.
