Hi all, does anyone know where I can find info on this please? All the guidance is for children, not children who are actually your own sibling. We have a huge age gap and I'd like to do this for her.

Do you have parental responsibility for them? If not, then I don't think you are able to open a Junior SIPP for them.

If they do not have an earned income then max that can be paid in each year to get tax relief is £2880, which becomes £3600 when the provider claims the tax relief.

You may need to talk to the provider with regard to if you can directly pay in money to the account.

AJ Bell has a lot of pensions experience, so I would have a chat with them to see what can be done given the specific circumstances.

No I don't have PR.

Great thank you.

My parents do one for my hopeless brother.

He's an adult so the parental thing doesn't apply.

Do you have full ISAs? If not maybe put it in there and move later.

I'm sure if you call your bank they will tell you what's what.

I can’t see why not. How old is your sister? Does she work, pay into a work pension, etc? Are you sure you know enough about her personal circumstances to do this? Do you intend to tell her about it, or do it in secret? I can see lots of problems in the future if you don’t tell her about it? What does your OH think about this? Any money you pay in, can you afford to do it?

It’s a very nice thought, but fraught with danger if not done properly and discusssed with all interested parties

Legally anyone can pay money into a pension for someone.
