Isa questions

Hello! I’m just wondering whether an Isa product exists whereby the capital is not at risk? Like an investment Isa which guarantees original capital returned. I have some money to invest but as it’s earmarked for school fees I cannot stand to lose it but want to try and grow it in some way. Sorry for what may be a stupid question....! Smile

There have been products out there and there is currently one that I quickly found run by Santander called Guaranteed Capital Plus. But these generally prohibit access within a fixed period such as 5 or 10 years. I have thought of these in the past but I definitely wouldn’t use them for this purpose because they either carry risks you can’t imagine or they yield poor returns. They may not be covered by any Government guarantees. And generally don’t have a good reputation

I have a similar requirement but for a different purpose and am using some stock market investments with low volatility. The difference is that I could afford to lose the whole lot and still fulfil my obligations

I would say just put them in a savings account if you can’t afford to lose the face value of the money (you would currently lose some of the real value because of inflation). Go on Moneysavingexpert for guidance
