How many hours do I need to work if I have a 4year old?

Hi, I am on Universal Credit and work 16 hours a week. I have a 4 year old son so am expected to work. I assumed it had to be minimum 16 hours but when I look it up, it says maximum 16 hours.
When I calculate working 16 hours a week, I get about £50 Universal Credit taken off me a month.
Just wondering how many hours I actually need to work and how many hours do you all work if you have a 4 year old? Thanks

Hi, this is a really good website. It looks like you need to work at least 16 hours. But can work more.
The website also has a calculator to work out your entitlements.

Hope that helps!

Once a child is at school you are expected to be aiming to look for work earning 25 x nmw per week. It's more about the amount than the hours.
