CCJ question

We have had a long road saving up enough money to buy our first house, and whilst getting my documents together I have found a CCJ on my credit report that I knew nothing about.
So I am at fault, I didn't change my address on my driving license immediately after I moved house in 2018, it was about a year later. I know that is awful, I have no excuse except I had a baby and I just never got around to it.
Unbeknownst to me, I recieved a parking ticket from a camera operated car park. This was sent to my old address in May 2019. I changed my address on my driving license in July 2019.
For 2 years, they have been sending warning mail to the address that is not mine, and not the address that DVLA hold for me. I'm absolutely beside myself. We have of course be rejected for the mortgage. The fine is for £220.

Does anyone think I have any leg to stand on for setting it aside? Does anyone have any experience in the process? It is going to cost my more money (£255) to start the process of setting it aside, but I think I have to try as I had no idea this debt was building up against. I never recieved a phone call or any paper work to my new address.
Please be kind, I know it was my mistake not changing my license over so if you think I should just swallow the fine and have the CCJ on my credit record for 6 years then I'm ready to hear it. Just slightly devastating to learn this when we have worked so hard to buy our own house.
Thanks in advance.

You say the the parking ticket company have sent the warning letters to an address which isn’t yours? Is it an address that isn’t known to you? Or was it your old address that they didn’t know you had moved from?

If it’s the latter then I highly doubt you will get it set aside, as they would of expected you to of changed your address.

You can try set it aside (but I wouldn’t be expecting it to be successful) personally in this situation I would be settling the ccj ASAP, applying for a certificate of satisfaction and then going to a mortgage broker. You can still get a mortgage with a ccj.

Pay the CCJ off so it will show as satisfied on your credit report. You can ask for a notice of correction to be put on your file with each credit agency(eg I wasn't aware of this due to address changes etc) but there is no obligation from lenders to accept the information on this.
