Benefits on retirement age

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction!

My Dsis's universal credit has been cut due to a dispute with the benefits office and she would not cooperate with requests to take any job - I haven't got involved but my DF has been topping her up out of his pension. She is a very vulnerable person.

My elderly parents have been topping up her money with the amount of benefits cut, but they cannot afford to do so for much longer.

Does anybody know or can point me in the right direction - now she is approaching retirement age, I am assuming the rules change as not expected to look for work, and there is a chance these benefits can be restored as pension credit? Or would it not be possible as the Dept for Work and Pensions would say if you've managed this far you can carry on?

Thanks in advance any advice would be much appreciated.

Is she nearly 66 then?

Do you mean she has been sanctioned for not actively looking for work? It should have a very clear start and end date. Is she able to speak to them and find out? If she is old enough pension credits are not based on any rules to qualify bar income.

She will be invited to apply for her state pension a few months before she is able to claim it. If she is single then she can claim pension credit if her pension is low enough. If she has rent to pay then she would be able to claim housing benefit and council tax support.

You can look up how much state pension you will receive and the date that it is payable on www.gov.uk under pensio forecast
You will need her National Insurance number too
I believe that you can write too
