overdrawn again this month and feel very stressed

i feel like i've got my family in a right load of money bother. we're overdrawn in every account we have today. the overdraft i have with my main bank is very large and i've just gone over it to put money into our 'food' acccount so that we can eat for the rest of the month. we've had visitors all over half term and we spent the equivilent of 2 christmas shops at the supermarket in just 10 days. we then had dh's car tax to pay for and two new tyres. we don't get paid now until 23rd and 28th of this month.

i know there's nothing else we can do except tighten our belts - excellent time of year to be doing that! dh and i both have jobs, i have 2 accounts, both overdrawn as i said, and a loan for £2K. i spose at least we don't have huge credit card bills or a car to pay for but it makes me sick to my stomach being this brassic. if i rang the babk do you think they'd have any sympathy and not charge me for going over the o/d this month?

I doubt that, but you could always ask them to increase your overdraft. Mine keep doing that and I'm not getting anywhere near it.

Have you sat down and done a strict budget? One which includes trying to reduce your overdrafts? I know it's difficult (especially with Christmas approaching) but perhaps you could see someway to managing your finances so that you aren't in this situation next year.

Is there any possibility of either you or dh getting another job (even if it's shelf-stacking in the evenings)? Do you have room for a lodger? Do you have anything you could sell?

And perhaps you should cut down on the entertaining - or, even better, get yourself invited to friends so that they can feed you .

possible not they may increase it or try to offer you a further loan not sure - I hate this time of year it is so hard not to overspend I have worked oput out budget and christmas spending is going to have to be small this year
