Late tax payment and credit score

I have an accountant who files my taxes. They made an error which means that my tax returns were filed late. They're going to pay the late fine.

Will this affect my credit score as I'm about to apply for a mortgage?!

Tax isn’t a credit account, so why would it link to your credit score?

Taxes don't reflect on your credit score

Thanks, it apparently used to according to Experian so I was double checking in case there was any further nuance.

'Unpaid taxes don't have a direct impact upon your credit anymore. This hasn't always been the case. Prior to April of 2018, tax liens were commonly included on credit reports with all three credit reporting agencies—Experian, TransUnion and Equifax.'
