Its just occurred to me because if job loss due to covid and only having a bit of temp work i am well under the tax this year.
So looking at transfering to my dh for this tax year which ends soon, so will they just put allowance on to next year or all on next wage , does anyone know
Hoping that I get a job soon and that won't be eligible for next years tax year

I transferred my allowance to my DH and also made a back claim as far as I was allowed. He got a tax rebate. .

Is there a minimum amount of time for transfering marriage allowance?
I'm going on Mat leave in a few months for 9 months and would be good to transfer the tax over...
Or does it have to be for whole year minimum?

Its per tax year. You have to have at least £1k of their personal allowance unused by the lower earner in the tax year, the higher earner has to be a basic rate tax payer.

Actually you can do it if you have less than the amount left, but the lower earner will end up paying a bit of tax. Look on .Gov, it's not that complicated. It's only worth about £200.
