Yes. How often will you do it and where?

stoptheworld · 06/11/2007 12:52

well I probably wont do it that often, maybe once twice a month, and it will always be wherever a party has been arranged by the customer. ie church hall etc

Stopin, stopped pretty much the same.

Okay, well there are two issues: (1) Will you be covered by the public liability insurance of the venues you perform at? If for example you hire our village hall you are usually covered by their insurance. However if you for example went into someone's home you wouldn't be. It's better to be overinsured than under obviously but you may well find you don't need it.

(2) Secondly finding cheap public liability insurance can be tough. Technically what you are doing is 'entertainment' and insurance for this area is notoriously expensive. We pay £500 for £10m cover which includes employers liability (which covers you if you have an assistant who accidentally pokes a child in the eye (it happens!) We use Arthur Doodson if it helps, but there are lots of insurance companies who offer PLI.

Hope that helps.
