EasyJet refund for April flights

Just wondering if anyone has any advice.

We had flights booked with EasyJet - booked January '20 to fly August '20. That flight, to Spain, would've gone ahead but we weren't confident flying so we switched it (which they allowed, fee free) to April '21. At the time this was the furthest away we could book.

Fast forwards to now; the flights are booked for early April when flying for holiday will most definitely not be allowed. We've given up on the idea for now - our accommodation even went bust! We were hoping given that it isn't legal to fly EasyJet would allow us to have a refund but they say the flight is scheduled to go ahead and so our only choice is to switch the flight again.

Anyone know if we will be able to convince them to refund??

They're very likely to give you the rebook/refund option nearer the time.

Remember that they've also got people booked onto flights in the next few weeks to give the same choices to.

We had flights booked with both Jet2 and Easyjet last year and in both cases they were dealing with customers about 2 weeks before departure date.

But they also let you do free date changes on the website, or possibly ask for a refund at any time, especially when we know it will be still illegal to fly abroad for a holiday at that time. So, I'd see if that is an option for you, or otherwise just wait. No need to panic unless you haven't heard from them less than 2 weeks before your flight date.

They are offering the rebook option already - I just want the refund at this stage having already moved it once.

They are apparently operating their flight to Malaga today according to both their website and the airport website which seems like madness - maybe they are intending to operate the flights with just a handful of people flying for compassionate/work/permitted reasons? And therefore not refund the rest of us.
