Neighbour has mounted their TV airiel on MY chimney, is this actually allowed?

I know this is going to sound incredibly petty but I am really peeved

we live in a terraced house and have a single chimney that belongs to our house alone. The neighbour the other side shares their chimney with their other adjoining neighbour. Instead of having their new digital airiel installed on their OWN chimney they have had it installed onto ours, but on their side of the roof.

Are they allowed to do this? and what can we do about it?

I know it sounds petty and I am a very reasonable person but the woamn makes my life a misery moaning about allsorts and then behaves in this manner. I am also aggrieved that the man who installed it climbed onto my roof without my permission

plus dh is pissed off as their airiel is swamping ours! tsk man

gunpowder....brilliant idea!!!

Or...tell them you're having your chimney removed cos you're doing away with your open fire/gas fire!!!!

I dont really want to get solicitors involved

As I said the roof looks ropey and my chimneys need work doing on them anyway and she has done this

The next time i see her about i will bring the matter up as maybe it will look less confrontational than going round and knocking on the door..

Any official disputes you have with them have to be declared when you sell your property but equally the fact that they have things attached to your house will throw up red flags for a buyer when you come to sell your property, so you do really need to get this sorted ideally without having to make a formal complaint anywhere.

thats the thing the sewer pipe did not come up on our survey, so the only time i think it could have been put there was when the sale was going through as it would require scaffolding to do and there hasnt been any up since we moved in. If that makes sense?

She can say all she likes but she is not WITHIN HER RIGHTS to place something for herself on your property/land etc and must, therefore, remove her aerial. It would've been different had she asked your permission and you agreed but even then you must consider the consequences if you did decide to sell because your buyer might not be quite so accommodating - and in view of that you must get it removed because it would put off any potential buyers.

And if your chimney is in a bad way anyway, plus your roof - all the more reason to get the aerial removed immediately.
