Withdrawing money from junior ISA maturity

Could anyone advise how my 18yr old can access the money from a Nationwide junior ISA maturity account please. He is being told that he can only withdraw the whole of the balance to go into another Nationwide cash ISA or to another ISA with someone else. He would like the money in his current account, with Santander. Thank you

What does the maturity paperwork actually say the options are?

The options are what I said above, moved in full to another nationwide ISA or an ISA with someone else.

Is it this one? Term 8 says

"If you make a withdrawal, you must withdraw the whole of the balance or transfer the whole of the balance to another Nationwide cash ISA or to an ISA with another ISA manager. The account must then be closed"

I would go back to whoever is telling you this and point them towards this - he can withdraw the funds as long as he withdraws all of them.

My DDs Nationwide J Isa was put into a holding account when she turned 18, then she transferred it using online banking to her Nationwide current account.

That may not be helpful if your DS has no other Nationwide accounts though, I guess.

He does want to withdraw the whole balance and close the account but he doesn't want to invest it in another ISA.

You can withdraw the whole. I think there's a comma missing in the narrative which might help:

"If you make a withdrawal, you must withdraw the whole of the balance [comma] or transfer the whole of the balance to another Nationwide cash ISA or to an ISA with another ISA manager. The account must then be closed"

Oh I see what you mean. A comma would make a big difference
