This might be a really dumb question, but for the last 2 months I've had £25 go into my bank account as something called BACS receipt, I have no idea what it is, can anyone tell me?

It's when it goes in electronically from another account. I think it stands for Bank Automated Clearing System.

BACS is a method of transferring money from one account to another. Your salary, for example, would be paid by this method. Does it have a company name as well?

No it just says BACS receipt. So someone is paying money to me, I have no idea who or why, will have to do some investigating!

Is there no other info with it? BACS could be from any number of sources. My pay, child benefit and tax credits all go into my accounts with BACS.

Dammit that is where it went, my mistake.

Can you send it back to

As soon as possible.

Thank you.

I only get IS, Child benefit and Tax Credits and they are all accounted for. It's probably my mum

BACs means Bank automated credits, which range from salaries to benefits. basically all regular payments are via bacs which the company sets up when you guve your bank details
