Which investment platform?

Does anyone have any recommendations for investment platforms that they use?

I started out very tentatively with investments just over a year ago and have been using Vanguard, which I'm happy with as it has done pretty well so far and is very cheap! The only drawback is that you can only invest in Vanguard funds and I'd quite like to have more options as I'm learning more about investing (though perhaps it has limited the chances of expensive mistakes!) I'm reviewing whether to stick with them or possibly move elsewhere. I'm not putting vast amounts in so cost is a fairly important factor.

If anyone has any recommendations that would be great thanks.

I use Interactive Investor and invest in a lot of Vanguard funds ( and others) through the platform. I have an ISA and a SIPP. Chose them as they were one of the cheapest at the time. Think others are cheaper now, but they are still competitive.

I really like the Fidelity platform. They have a wide range of funds and the platform is easy to use with some good tools.

DH uses fidelity

Place marking.

Interactive investor is very efficient and inexpensive. DH trades a lot every day and uses this out of preference. He has always said it works the best. Im sure its partly a personal choice thing but he loves it (i get very afraid when he gets too clicky on it!). Hope you find one that suits you and you make lots of money!

I use the Fidelity platform and I really like it. Easy to navigate and lots of funds.

Thanks everyone for the really helpful recommendations. I will investigate Fidelity as that sounds like a very popular option. I am investing in a fairly small way so the flat fee at Interactive Investor is probably a bit expensive for me at the moment but will keep an eye for the future. Thanks so much, would be great to have a bit more investment chat in miumsnet.

I've also used Hargreaves Lansdowne but I find that they are quite expensive and the initial anti money laundering checks were a real pain in the bum.

Interactive and Hargreaves Lansdown have done me well over the years.

I mainly use Vanguard UK as I use the stocks and shares ISA function on there so its great for quite reliable investing over time.

For individual stocks iI use trading212 and also Freetrade mainly as they offer a wide range of individual stocks and ETFs but i would recommend checking out a few videos for advice before downloaded either of them as investing directly into stocks does put your money at risk if you havnt done the research.

Depends on what type of investor you are :)

I have made a video about the apps iv used if thats of interest!

I use Freetrade. It was easy to set up an account via the App sems cheap to use as trades are free/cheap. It has fewer features than platforms like Hargreaves Lansdown but as I am just starting out and investing small amounts (ie, £50 in M&S shares) then this is fine for me. I pay £3 per month for their Stocks and Shares ISA so my profits are tax exempt.
