That exactly is it you are trying to calculate? The fee you pay for the transfer?

If so you need to multiple the decimal value for the %rate by the amount you are transferring.

So if the transfer rate was 2% and the amount transferred was £1000...

you would do 1000 * 0.02 = £20.

Another way to look at it is if the rate was 2% it would cost £2 for every £100 transferred.

3% = £3 for every £100
4% = £4 for every £100
5% = £5 for every £100
.....

If that is confusing you could perhaps post the %rate (and maybe the value) and we could work it out for you are tell you exactly what to multiple by...

My cc rate at the moment is almost 7% outstanding balance is 333.57.

I am trying to find a new credit card but not sure which one to plump for.

I think i am trying to work out if i would save money buy transfering but if it would be more or less than the transfer rate.

The transfer rate is 3%.

I dont know how to work out rates etc.

just phone up the card company you want to transer to and ask them, they'll work it all out for you before you commit to anything

3% of your balance is about £10 - but normally transfer rates are capped eg £25 or 3% which ever is higher
