How much % interest in your mortgage

Ours is 1.99% fixed for another 3 years. At the time it seemed like a good deal but now I wonder if we were fools. Not much we can do about it now obviously, we will just have to wait it out until the fixed term is up.

2.14% fixed for five years - had it for a year and a half now. I just wanted certainty as it was around this time the Bank of England was talking like interest rates had to move up. It's not the best but not the worst and was right for us then.

@user68634

First time buyer here and we can't get an AIP at the moment for less than 3.5% (some higher) I'd be very happy with 1.99%
Our first mortgage was over 3%, 3 years ago due to DH having an old mobile phone issue on his credit file. Two years later we remortgaged, reduced to 1.88% - certainly not as good as a tracker at the moment but we are more than happy with it. Hopefully in a couple of years you can get a better deal.

1.79

Due to remortage next year

CMOTDibbler · 07/12/2020 21:16

0.2%. We got an amazing base rate tracker that was only available for a couple of months with no fee

Notyetthere · 07/12/2020 22:42

1.19% fixed for two years.

BarbaraofSeville · 08/12/2020 06:02

CMOT

We just missed out on that one and had to go for a slightly higher rate, with a fee of a couple of hundred pounds.

Paid off though as we still have it and the rate is under 0.5%.

Smallgoon · 08/12/2020 20:27

1.73% fixed for 5yrs. I pay £650 a month.

chuffedasbuttons · 08/12/2020 21:31

I'm about to do two

Home 1.15 2yr fix but it does have a hefty fee

Buy to let 1.65 for 5 year fix. Again a hefty fee

The home one I will eventually lose out but I need a higher loan so have to pay the fee. I think this one is a 4.8x salary deal (although still plenty of equity as LTV is about 35%)

The buy to let is a solid deal though. Taking this from 40%LTV to 70%LTV Because I need the money.

I think you take the deal that suits you. Sometimes we're against the wall on the % LTV and get stung. I hope those in this position make as much out of property as some of us older folk clearly have done with our excellent rates. I made more money in property value than I did in my salary for several of the last twenty years.

Dinosauraddict · 09/12/2020 08:03

2.57% on a 5 year fixed and about halfway through that. Like others I wanted to cover brexit impacts and don't regret that but I am quite risk averse generally.

ilovebrie8 · 09/12/2020 08:18

0.6% on a tracker, best thing ever.

Charcol · 16/12/2020 15:55

@80% LTV...... 1.73% for 3 years. Just remortgaged 2 months back.
Doesnt sound too bad a deal.

Burnthurst187 · 19/12/2020 11:26

Took 1:85% fixed yesterday for two years

DuchessMinnie · 19/12/2020 13:57

2.65% for 10 years. DP is very risk averse and wanted to fix our costs for as long as possible. Our mortgage is £3k a month and I think it would be £200 lower without the fixed rate Confused

DawnAnn · 26/12/2020 17:12

3.24% fixed rate. Finishes early 2021 so should be able to get a better rate at that point.

thismeansnothing · 26/12/2020 17:16

1.95% fixed for 2 years.

twinklespells · 26/12/2020 17:21

We've got two, a big lump and then a top up when we moved. Big lump we've just remortgaged on a five year fix at 1.64% for five years as of 1st Jan. Top up bit is 2.73% with another 18 months to go.

Previously on 3.73%, so very pleased with 1.64!

Itstartedinbarcelona · 27/12/2020 19:50

We remortgaged last year fixed at 1.54% for 5 years with 10 years left in total, but we are saving up to pay off an additional 10% each year, so should have it cleared in 5 years.
