Removal company insurance

I'm not sure this is in the right place but I'll hopefully someone in the know can give me some advice.
The removal people who moved me to Somerset 300 miles away and who had a very good reputation in my previous home town damaged my belongings to the tune of £1500.
After a year of haggling their insurance company offered me £700 which to be fair they didn't HAVE to, my claim was late because of the covid crisis and the fact I was on the front line, just didn't have any time to send it in. I accepted as full and final settlement from the insurance company.
I then decided to claim in small claims for the remainder of the damage from the removal company directly but now I'm not sure if I can do that because I accepted a full and final settlement from the insurance company.
Can I still take the removal men to the small claims for the remainder because they are not the insurance company.
Thanks.

I think full and final settlement means what it says. Your claim is finished now.

I am not claiming any legal knowledge on this, but what is the wording of the full and final settlement? Is that a settlement against the liabilities of the insurance company? Insurance is doesn't absolve someone of their liabilities and if insurance won't pay out then they are liable. That may be the case but you need proper legal advice.
