Universal credit underpaying hi

Hi, does anyone find that UC continually underpay them? I claim the childcare element as I'm a lone parent and that's what most of my salary goes on. This month I submitted costs of £750 and they've awarded £183! I know they've not taken into account I did two separate payments of £600 and £150.33 so obviously something has been missed.

They will only pay childvare payments made in your assessment period. The payment seven days after assessment period ends will reflect payments made.

Yes i know all of this. All payments were made in the assessment period and before it ended. They did the same last month and missed the childcare payment altogether.

Childcare is paid as another element of UC and the whole award is reduced by wages. If you dont think they've awarded correctly then you need to ring them or leave a message on your journal.

Thank you. Yes, I am aware of this. I was underpaid by the childcare element last month. I know I've been underpaid as I paid less in childcare last month and was awarded more last month. I know you're trying to be helpful but you're informing me of things i already am aware of as I've been claiming for three months now. My post asks if anyone has had experience of underpayment.

So have you put a message on your journal? What happened when they missed the payment completely last month, although you've also said they awarded more last month so not sure which it is?

It's when the childcare was used, not when the childcare was paid, that affects how much you receive back. For example, if your assessment period is 10th - 9th, you pay for childcare on 1st July to use throughout July. You will only have actually used 9 days in that assessment period, then the following assessment period would cover childcare used from 10th July to 9th August.
