Stocks and shares - ISA or not?

Blame the hangover, but I’m struggling to get to grips with this one.

I have a small historical portfolio in an online broker. If I buy new shares I’d do this through a stocks and shares isa. Any reason why not?

Good to use an ISA wrapper as it means you don't have to account for any capital gains or dividend income to HMRC on those investments.

That’s my thinking, any downsides? Other than the annual max (which I wouldn’t be anywhere near)

Only downsides depend on the ISA provider and what their dealing charges and admin/account management fees are each mont, so take time to compare different options. Can vary depending on frequency of dealing and size of deal/ overall investment total.

Following along out of interest (no pun!)

I'm just moving some more money into a S+S ISA though decided to drip feed it in to watch what the markets are doing.
