Hey all, no idea where to stick this question so many options 🙈

So short of it is,
I have so kids in nursery, I have to increase their hours due to less family child care with covid. Just worked it all out, I get £1 change basically from my wages once I've paid out for it so I really am going to work to pay for someone else to look after my children.

I thought ok, I'll just stop work and look after them myself, but they've come so far with nursery and with the current issues they need some other social than me.

I like my job but the pay is crap, I don't really want to look for another job as I value being happy over having more money, but obviously this isn't a great situation. Plus finding a new job within COVID isn't my idea of fun.

I am happy to try work around my current job and the kids doing something on the side but what can I do? I've looked at lots of ideas, Avon, selling is osbourne books, things like that I really don't know how good they are anyone do this or know?

I do make my own little picture la with frames which I think are lovely but I'm so clueless I don't really know how to go about selling them without ploughing lots of cash into advertising it's only on a tiny scale more of a hobby really, if I could make cash from that win win but there's so many ppl doing the same thing.

Anyone else in the same boat? Anyone else managed to find a way of earning extra pocket money on the side that's doable around work and kids? Tia

eBaying items?

The earn £10 a day threads on here are good, some good pointers for online surveys/market research and content moderation which seem to be the most lucrative - I think if you really get into it you can earn more than £10 a day and it's online, from home work which can be done in the evenings...

Avon et al, well I have heard of people making money from doing that kind of thing, but I think (a) they are the kind of people who already have very wide social circles, a big network of potential clientele and (b) have the sales skills/chutzpah to be able to use social gatherings and friends and family to flog their wares without people taking offence - I know I couldn't do it! I think the days of simply being able to distribute catalogues or go door to door for that kind of thing are gone TBH, people really need some kind of personal connection or they'll just buy their toiletries or kids books or tupperware or whatever online. Probably someone will be along in a minute to contradict me but either way I'd be super super careful of getting into anything where you have to pay upfront costs, and particularly anything which smacks of an MLM, sometimes these things which are effectively scams are very, very convincing!

I definitely recommend Ebaying. I have an Ebay business that I initially started by selling anything and everything in the house that we no longer wanted. It's a good earner and I don't put many hours into it at all.

Thank you all really helpful as always, I do try the eBaying I trend to sell one item dirt cheap and the rest never get any interest but I will try as I've got lots of rubbish at home really haha

Also the earn £10 a day thread is amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Even a tenner a day would help towards the small things, absolute mind filed though, I've looked through the threads and can't actually find a intro or starting point actually explaining it all so will keep digging.

Thank you all for advice it's made me feel a bit more positive today about some small changes I can make to help :)
