I have been on my own from the moment we knew we were pregnant

It's the most hurtful thing !

I am capable of doing it all on my own he says because of me at the moment he wants no involvement (this was before baby was born).

Do I not go to the csa or do I?

He has another child.

Confused ?

Why shouldn't he pay to support his child?
I'm sorry you're going through this. It's really hard, but it's going to be much harder if the father doesn't pay his way.

Can you afford to support your baby alone?
I would go for it, both parents are responsible for supporting the child of not as a active parent then financially.
He may not like it but he may realise he has no choice in being his decision alone.
Do what is right for you and baby

You should definitely apply for maintenance. He has a duty to support your child. But dont rely on getting anything.

My DS dad is absent but pays maintenance via a DoE order. However as PP has said, dont rely on it. My DS maintenance isn't paid regularly so just builds up on account in which they have admitted will unlikely get repaid. He is also working and has done with the same employer throughout so technically it should be paid regardless.

However, yes you should apply for maintenance. Its both parents duty to financially support the child. But it tends to be the bare minimum

100% if you don't need it create an account for your child and let them have the money when old enough. Kids need money. Adults need money. Money makes life better.
