Identity fraud

A distance family member whom I have zero contact with and met a hand full of times.
Often uses mine and my families personal details to open loans, catalogues, sky /bt accounts.
I constantly have searches when I check my credit to what I'm assuming is her address.

I also know it's her because a few of the catalogue items have turned up at my address in her name 🙃 I'm constantly chasing companies to remove debt from my name or close accounts.
I report every event to action fraud and have contact the none emergency police line. However I am told because I am not out of pocket it's more of an inconvenience rather than fraud.
Surely there's something else that can be done and it's not legal to use other people's details and benefit?

you can ask all the credit reference agencies to put a note on your file to require additional ID confirmation from you before opening anything in your name. it would mean that any time you genuinely want to do anything requiring credit, you will have to produce your driving licence, which will be a pain but should stop the fraudster.

Unfortunately you aren’t bring defrauded, the companies she opens accounts with are so it’s only them that can take action
You will need to get a note added to your credit file, which is annoying but it’s the only way to stop her

Register with CIFAS. Any time anyone applies for credit in your name from companies registered with them, it will prompt contact with you to check you're aware of it. www.cifas.org.uk/services/identity-protection/protective-registration
