Catch 22 splitting up.

Need a bit of advice about how to sort finances post split up. We have no property or savings and rent privately. DH works full time and I work part time (30 hours). I think he is going to split up with me. Currently not talking.
I feel ok a bit of a catch 22 financially. I’ve signed up to the local Council housing website but don’t have high priority and it let me apply but did pop up with a statement saying I am entitled to stay in the marital home with the children if I am on the tenancy. I won’t be able to get another private rental as don’t earn enough to pass the affordability criteria and don’t have money for a deposit/first months rent. We took out a loan for my car but I won’t be able to pay that by myself so will have to give up a car which means I need to move from our village to the town where the older 2 go to school. Possibly also move youngest as he goes to another village school and won’t be entitled to transport.
I assume I can’t apply for any financial help until I have moved out but I’ve heard it can takes weeks/months to get sorted meaningni won’t be able to move out in the first place!

Anyone been through this before and can give me advice on the best way to do things/what to sort first?

Thanks

It takes 5 weeks for a Universal credit claim to be paid but you can take an advance payment to help you through those first 5 weeks. Some councils have schemes which will loan you the deposit and first months rent for private accommodation.

Phone your housing department. Different areas have different support. Some will pay a deposit. Some will have lists of landlords etc. Some areas don't have year long waiting lists.

If you have separated. Put in a claim for UC credit. You can do a calculation on turn2 is website

Also check CMS for. Calculation of child support.

The total with working part time might not be as grim as you expect.
