Credit card query.

I am hoping to pay off my Very catalogue account, by moving the debt to a new 0% Credit Card (First Direct)

Very do not have a 16 digit 'card number' that First Direct are requesting, as Very is mail order and not a physical store card.

Can I quickly pay the Very debt with an old Sainsburys Credit Card, and on the same day, transfer the new Sainsburys debt, onto my new 0% First Direct card without being charged interest by Sainsburys?

So to cut a long story short.

Very to Sainsburys to First Direct.

Thank you Smile

Surely you’d only be charged 1 day interest at most anyway. Like pennies. Unless you have a ridiculously high balance.

I've just done this, what I did was to do a money transfer from my credit card to my bank account, which I then used to pay the Very account. There was a 4% fee though but it's interest free for a year. At least I know the credit card debt isn't going to cost me anything apart from that fee as long as I get it paid off in a year.

I suppose both your way and mine are basically the same then actually, except you're doing a balance transfer!!

Does Very allow it's account to be paid using a credit card, and does it count as a purchase or a cash like payment? If it's the latter, there might be interest payable, but if you're quick, it's not going to be much.

If the balance is of the few hundred pounds level, rather than thousands, you could also use your Sainsburys card to pay for the equivalent amount of normal spending like groceries etc, and send the money you would have spent on groceries to the Very account instead.

Thank you all for replying, its £900. Too much really, I aim to pay it off on the 0% & I owe £1200 on a credit card, that I have put on a new 0% with First Direct, then I need to stop spending what isnt mine & just use my current account.

I find it too easy to click 'add to my account'

Debt free is the aim.

BarbaraofSeville Yes, you can use a credit card to pay it, I usually use my debit card to pay it every month, its set up by direct debit at the moment to take the minimum payment of £26.

Not all places like very, argos etc actually let you pay the debt off with a credit card has to be debit.
