UC and new job

Hi, I applied for UC about a week or so ago as my work had dried up and I have 3 children at home with me atm. I was on WTC before but wasn't getting anything for being out of work and couldn't apply unless I changed to UC.
I've now been offered work (going to start off on a few hours from home) starting from next week but my first payment won't be until the end of June. I've written this in my journal but wondered if they would calculate this into this month or when I actually get paid.
Also, will the first payment include the time from when I applied or just one month? Sorry, if this seems an obvious question.

Does anyone find UC easier the tax credits btw?
The work I do will probably have variable hours and I have been self employed (for under a year!) which was a bit of a pain with tax credits. In this new role though, I will be employed and will be paid directly into my B/A with NI and tax taken out.

If you are claiming help with rent from Uc then the first £292 of earnings will not affect your Uc amount, if you have a mortgage then it's the first £512 that is disregarded.
Your monthly UC amount is calculated form earnings during your assessment period. Your assessment period starts the day you submitted your initial claim online and ends one month later then you receive your payment seven days later. So if you applied for UC on the 8th May then your assessment period dates will be 8th - 7th each month with payment of Uc on the 14th each month. Your payment will be based on earnings reported to HMRC form 8th - 7th. Anything reported after the 7th will count for the following month.

Thanks Baby,

No, I won't be getting help with my housing as I have a mortgage and never applied for housing. ATM, it's unlikely that I'll be earning over the £500 as I can't do much atm with the kids at home.
