Benefit Cap Deduction

Hi all,

Just after some advice really, been on Universal Credits for approx 1 year, during this time partner was in full time employment so received around the amount we would of received for Child Tax Credit.
Unfortunalty during this time his employment has been terminated.
Our benefit cap shows as being £1666.67. This months total entitlement before deductions is £1750.
Due to the government's extra added of the £83 bringing us over the cap.

However the amount they are deducting is £299 even though gone over by £84.

This is just for benefit cap deductions, not for any Advances or other deductions.

Just wondering if anyone had similar? On talking on phone they agreed something wasn't right but on todays on journal theyve updated with no real explanation and just we've gone over the cap amount.

With all going on and not receiving wages past 6 weeks, it's extra money could do without losing.

Many thanks for any advice

Have you included that child benefit is included in the benefit cap ? Also you should not be capped if your husband has worked for the past nine months as there should be a grace period, assuming he has no gaps in employment and has earned above the level needed to be exempt.
