Credit Card Chargeback : Advice Needed

Hello,

We booked tickets last year for a festival taking place in July.

Festivals around that time and after have already been cancelled, as well as the other festivals at that venue. The festival tickets were available only through an events company, who apparently are being very difficult with their customers (festival goers and organizers alike).

Because of this the festival has not yet been cancelled. It's very unlikely it could go ahead, over 70% of the bill are from the US, and many have already confirmed they are not travelling overseas this summer. The organisers are not communicating well and no-one knows what's going on at the moment.

The value of the tickets is around £400. In the event that we can't get a refund, is it possible to do a credit card chargeback? I've never done one before and I'm not sure how to go about it. If you have been in a similar situation before it would be good to hear from you.

Thanks in advance,

Uke

If the concert/event goes ahead you would be committing fraud. They have supplied the tkts as per contract. Frustrating I know!! But if you do a chargeback before the event is cancelled this would be the case. If event is cancelled and they don't refund then you can chargeback

Obviously not interested in committing fraud.....

The event is definitely not going ahead, they have lost permission from the LA for the park they want to have it in (as have others for the same venue). It's possible that refunds will be forthcoming but it seems like a lot of problems are being reported with the ticket company for other events. Have you actually done a charge back? How does it work?

What credit card company are you with? American express is really easy. Just look for the transaction on your online statement.
