Help! Self-Assessment Tax form not taking my personal tax free allowance out

Anyone know why this might be? I've done a self-assessment tax return most years now (excepting the occasional year where I was PAYE) so thought I knew what I was doing. I've completed the form for 2019-20 and it is not taking out the £12,500 personal tax free allowance as it normally does.

My earnings are in the right bracket, can't see anything in any of the help sections and couldn't get through on either phone or web chat today and beginning to panic though I know it must be a glitch or mistake on my part.

Submit it. It can be amended later. If you submit it and call/webchat, the adviser will be able to see exactly what the problem is and correct it. Allow a couple of days after submission. The best time to ring or chat is 8am.

Submit it, but you’ll probably find after a few days in your account that it’s adjusted. This happened to me with the marriage transfer

Thanks both, I'll take a deep breath and submit as finding it impossible to get through to them at the moment.

Does it think that you have a PAYE job where you will earn in excess of the personal allowance during the rest of the tax year and is saving your tax free allowance for that?

Is there a 'please add any other information about your tax return' box that you could write something to highlight your concern about the tax allowance?
