i have previously posted a thread (MY employer is scamming me, Help) explaining how my employer scammed me into believing i was being furloughed, later on denied it and turns out she has never even put me on the payroll (which i need to be able to be furloughed) even though i have worked for her for months. Anyways on that thread I have seen that a lot of people have advised me to apply for universal credit. the only problem is, i have read that you need to be a british citizen to be able to claim benefits in the UK ? Mainly speaking about Universal credit. I am Swiss, therefore have the right to live and work here, and also have a pre-settled status. (not settled as i have been only here for less than 2 years) my question is, does anyone know if i am eligible for universal credit despite not being a british citizen? otherwise, is there any other type of benefits i am able to claim at the moment ? my situation is very tough at the moment so i would appreciate any kind of help. thanks

You do not need to be British to claim UC. Look at citizens.advice website. They have phone and chat advice.

You would need to pass the habitual residency test to claim Uc . This will involve looking at your work history etc.

Just apply

Or

Iirc you had payslips showing deductions, which could be helpful. If you believe that the tax and ni shown has not been paid over contact hmrc as your employer would have committed fraud.
