I've been paid Furlough but it's incorrect.

I usually get paid the 28th of each month and take home £1295 after tax and NI each month. I was expecting to receive around £900-1000 when furloughed however I've only had £477 paid in, which now means I can't pay my bills. I thought pay was 80%, can anyone confirm this is incorrect please.

447 is less than 80%

Phone you HR or payroll person and ask. Could be a mistake. Could be that they are waiting to get the furlough payment from HMRC before they pay it through to you.

Also check if it says anything on your pay slip - that might give you a clue.

Sorry 477 — it's still less than 80%

I thought it must be a mistake. My payslips are accessed through our work IT system only and I can't access it from home.
It's always the same amount I'm paid though so I would have thought, easy to figure out.

Were you only furloughed last of the month and £477 is the pay part? Depending on payment dates some firms won't have got the furlough money in time to pay this month.

Were you only.furloughed part.of last month that should say.

Update. For some reason they based my pay on the month of January when I had two weeks leave, which they called absence offset for taking away the 600ish amount owed. They realised after I sent an email and a couple of calls this was wrong and paid me the extra 600+ owed not long after.

No idea why they based my pay on January which had my first two weeks unpaid leave I've ever had in the 6 years I've worked for them. Unless it's a government furlough thing? It's odd but thankfully fully corrected now. Smile
