Work is paying me a month late

I sent my timesheet in. They missed it off. They've said it's to late now and they will add it on next month. Can they do this? I sent the info on time. I've got bills going out and depend on that money.

If your contract states your pay date and your timesheet was in on time, then they’re completely in the wrong not to pay you.

If they’ve finalised the payroll, then they should be rolling it back (or restoring from a back up), adding you in and setting up a manual bank transfer.

Get back onto them and if they’d still refuse then ask to be passed up the line until you can speak to someone with a bit of authority.

How big of a company do you work for? Is the payroll dept in house or external?

chunkyrun · 23/04/2020 16:36

I'm sure it's internal, I work for a care charity

What reason have they given for why they can’t add you in now and get a manual back set up?

mummmy2017 · 23/04/2020 16:39

Tell them you need an advance for the amount owed.

chunkyrun · 23/04/2020 16:46

They just said I was missed off. I email my payslips to someone. They explained payroll has already been ran and it's to late to add me on

Failure to pay wages for work done counts, in law, as an unauthorised deduction from wages. If the matter cannot be resolved, you are entitled to make a claim to an employment tribunal. Failure to pay wages – in full and on time – is also a fundamental breach of the employment contract.

They can make a CHAPs payment. They won't want to because it costs money, but they can. Once, I changed Trust (Nurse) then had to take time off sick. They assumed I was a new starter and didn't pay me, but I had continuity of service.

They tried to tell me I wouldn't be paid until the next month. I told them I'd be at their office at 4PM and I'd expect my wages in petty cash. I got them.

Thanks for the advice! Called twice on Friday to head office to be told I'll be called back. Third time given a mobile number for one of the managers. A second person has also been missed off as well as myself. They're going to escalate it to make a payment Monday. Hopefully will be sorted. Almost didn't go on shift this weekend but didn't want to let my service users down

So they've not paid me. Due today not had a wage slip. Every time I call I'm told someone will phone me back 😐

Put it in writing and say if they don't arrange payment by.... Date, you will start a claim for unlawful deduction of wages.

Shocking. And your manager should be doing this on your behalf and should be outraged. Who is your line manager?
