Claiming commission from an ex-employer - can I do this?

I've been sorting through some old paperwork today and discovered that I wasn't paid commission for a project I was working on for my ex-employer - my contract with them ended in October 06. Is it too late to make a claim against them? anyone know? TIA lmb

Not necessarily. It depends on whether you were contractually entitled to the commission (and in what way) and when the payment was due. The usual rules are that you can make a claim for breach of an employment contract for six months following the end of the employment. It must be something arising or outstanding on the termination of employment. However the situation might be different if the payment wasn't due until a later date.
