Working two PT jobs, what happens with Employers NI?

I have one PT job, which pays £20 an hour, but because I only do a handful of hours a week, I don't pay NI. Yesterday I got offered another PT job (8 hours) so will still be under the tax threshold per year, but I think on a weekly basis will be into NI territory. Does the second employer have to pay it or how does it work? Do I just fill in the P46 from HMRC and they work it out? I am on the payroll for my first job, just don't pay any deductions.....

Any advice gratefully received.

(And in the interest of full disclosure, I will confess I have accepted job 2 without knowing exactly what the salary will be, but it's a charity, so I know not much. It's more about the work and getting out of the house than the money!).

No, the second employer won't have to pay it. An employer will only need to pay employers NI if they pay you over the threshold in that job. I have two PAYE jobs and one self-employed, none of them pay employers NI (unless I get a nice bonus that takes me over the threshold).

There's some useful information <a class="break-all" href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.litrg.org.uk/sites/default/files/Multiple%2520jobholding%25202018-19.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiXsO3WovLnAhWIRhUIHYS-C7gQFjANegQIBRAC&usg=AOvVaw3e0qCQmbv1knW-m_mDzbvI&cshid=1582825125222" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here re tax and Ni when working multiple jobs. In particular make sure you are getting your ni record credited.

Thank you both - very helpful. I get NI credits because I still have a child under 12 who we are registered for CB for (although don't claim), but that will end in a couple of years so just want to make sure I'm doing the right things!
